Tolerating drier growing conditions, Aubrietia works well in rockeries, gravel gardens, borders, raised beds, and even grows in crevices. ‘Rose Red’ sports fragrant, four-petalled flowers, that will enhance your garden during spring and summer.
To maintain your Aubretia’s compact shape, you should cut back after it has finished flowering. Sometimes Aubrietia can develop a shape where they cease flowering in the centre, resulting in ground cover that is empty in the middle. However, this is no cause for concern; just give it a hard prune back to restore it to its desired shape.
